Woodland Mice

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers. Sorry for my absence but I have been extremely busy with WI stuff. Tysoe WI, of which I am secretary,  celebrates its' 100th birthday this month.  We have a whole year of celebrations planned but it means I have been tied up with so much!  We have our Centenary Dinner next Wednesday evening and it will be nice to relax over a nice meal once we have finished all the prep.  Well, the meal is being catered but we need to get all the  gift wrapping, name places , table plans etc done prior to the event. Rather than be boring and just have table numbers, since the WI motto is "Inspiring Women" we decided to call each table by the name of inspiring  British women.  We had fun sorting out who to choose - ranging from Emmaline Pankhurst, the Suffragette, to Queen Elizabeth II, who is also a member of Sandringham WI.

Anyway, I'll keep you informed on what we get up to.

It is time for another DT card for MAWTT today.  This time it is Emma's choice which is "Into The Woods",  She has broadend this out to things which you might see in the woods - trees, flowers, birds, animals etc. I found this lovely topper from Little Claire in my stash and it seemed perfect.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Rymans
blue paper - Lime Tree Crafts
pierced Noble Squares - Sue Wilson
backing papers - LOTV "Petal Fresh" (disc)
sentiment stickers - stash.

I just love the image - so sweet!  Please pop over to the blog and find out what my teamies have found in the woods.

Hope you have  a good day.  Take care.

Embossing

Good morning and here I am with my three in a row! Three cards in three days which seems to be becoming the norm for me these days.  Nothing for a week then like buses three come along at once.  This time it's my DT card for International Art & Soul challenge # 4 and the theme is embossing.  This can be wet or dry embossing or a combination of the two so you have a lot of scope.

Please scroll down if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

My Card

Recipe
card base - 6.5 " square - Hobbycraft card stock
blue card - Lime Tree Crafts
embossing folder - All Occasion e/f - magazine freebie (but available at Craft Stash)
sentiment die - Britannia Dies
Delicate Asters die - Heartfelt Creations
sprig leaf die - Sue Wilson

A very simple card to put together but looks very effective and quite special I think.  It also benefits from being flat so good for mailing.

Please pop across to the blog and see the beautiful cards my teamies have produced and you may decide to join us.  We are a Just For Fun Challenge but if you win you will have a lovely banner to place on your blog.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Take care.

Good morning.  Hope everybody is well.  I thought spring came the other day - how wrong I was!   One absolutely glorious day but very cold and very windy since.

Good morning and I hope it finds you all well.  It's great that spring really seems to be here now in all her glory.  In fact Wednesday was more like high summer - a really glorious day.

Zed Fold Card

Good morning, and it's a really beautiful one here in Oxfordshire.  John and his friend have gone off for a walk and I will be picking them up later this morning when they ring me.  Such a nice change after all the rain of late.  I had a great day yesterday when I met up with some ex-colleagues for lunch.  We meet up every three months and have a great time putting the world to rights.  The food is more or less incidental!

My card this morning is for one of the ladies in our WI "Craft and Laugh" group who is going through a bit of bad luck at the moment.  Her husband was in hospital for a week with a very bad foot infection and then she fell and broke her ankle and foot!  She was also in hospital a few days (mainly because there was nobody at home to look after her) but now they have both been discharged - Janice on crutches and Paul with walking sticks. She has already had one surgery to pin and plate but is awaiting further surgery.

My Card

Recipe
white cardstock - Hobbycraft
backing papers - LOTV "Promises" (disc)
Fleur De Elegance die - Spellbinders
Large rose die - Memory Box
Sentiment - computer generated

This is the first zed fold card I have made and it is so easy.  I'm sure I could have done a much better job but I was in a desperate hurry to get it off to her.

I also sent her another card from our little craft group.  It was one I already had in stock which I posted some time ago and I just changed the sentiment tag, but it was absolutely perfect as you can see.

Well that's it from me today.  Take care and enjoy your day.

Fancy Borders

Good morning and I'm here with another DT project for International Art & Soul challenge #3 and we are asking you to use fancy borders.  IA&S is  a Just For Fun challenge but we have some lovely banners for the winners so I do hope you will pop over to to the blog and see what my teamies have made for this challenge.  Maybe you will be inspired to join in.

Please scroll down to see my Christmas Card Club entry

Instead of a card I actually made a box of cards as a gift.  The inspiration for the box was seeing a pack of cards in the shop at a National Trust property.  I thought I'm sure I can make something similar, and this is what I came up with.  I used a mini brad as the closure.

My Project

Recipe
white pearlescent card
pink pearlescent card
5 " square scalloped cards
Spellbinders e/f - Dainty Dots
Spellbinders - A2 Bracket Borders One
Britannia - small and medium rose
Britannia - fern wreath strip
pearls from stash

Well that's it from me today. Have a good day and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  Another two weeks have passed so it's time for our friendly little gang to produce another Christmas card.  Zoe is hosting this time and she asked us for something "off the wall ie non-traditional, a little wacky, unusual colours etc."  So this is my offering.  Some might think it a little irreverant but it's just a bit of fun.

I have used my "Greeting Card Factory" to find some images.  Cards are all very flat again. I have added a funny caption inside in lieu of a sentiment.

Card 1

Caption: "The Wise Men soon regretted buying that cheap sat nav off eBay"

Card 2

Caption: "We have no reservations in wishing you a Merry Christmas."

Card 3

Caption: "May your Christmas be filled with unexpected treasures"

The pictures are terrible I'm afraid but it has been lashing with rain the entire day so it is extremely dark.  I tried manipulating the images with my software but it's not much better.  Sorry.

Well that's it for today.  If you want to see what the other girls have come up with you will find their details on my side bar - but they won't be posting until tomorrow.  I have another DT card due then so I always post this one a day early.

Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Rainbows for MAWTT

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Today is time to show my card for MAWTT. Terri is our host this time and she asked to see rainbows or rainbow colours.

My Card

A very simple card using an image I found online and then added the quote. A few gems and punched butterflies was all it took. The pearlescent card base has been in my stash for years and came across a whole load of coloured pearlescent cards when I was sorting through stuff over the last couple of weeks.  I had to move everything when John was building me some more shelving.  It's amazing how much stash you find!!! I don't think I need to buy cardstock or paper pads for a few years! Now who am I kidding?  I might not need it but there's bound to be stuff I see and want!

Anyway why not pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have come up with? We are a Just For Fun challenge with no prizes except your winner's badge but I'm sure you will get some inspiration for your projects.

It is still extremely windy here so I hope you are having it better.

Take care.

Challenge # 3 at Do-Al(1) Kreatives

Good morning.  How can it possibly be March already?  Unbelievable!!  I hope everybody is okay. We had very mixed weather yesterday.  A couple of hours of bitter cold but sunny, then very high gusty winds (I really don't like high winds - they cause such damage) and then all that was followed by a couple of hours of snow! Fortunately it didn't lay.

Anyway  it is time to show my DT card for our third challenge at Do-Al(1) Kreatives. - " Spring - Anything Goes With Nature".   What could be more springlike the the birds singing away, flying here, there and everywhere (cue for a song!)  and starting up their new homes.

My Card

Recipe
6 x 6 " base cad
backing papers - Spring Feast by First Edition
image - Birds and Houses Set - Digital Delights
bird house die - Die'sire Crafters Companion
Birds On A Wire - Spellbinders
Spellbindersl Labels 16

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digital Delights by Louby Loo and the winning prize is a $5 gift voucher for the store.  Please pop over to the blog and check out my teamies projects and maybe you will be inspired to join in with us.
